Rachelle Saitta
Rachelle Saitta is a contemporary-abstract painter who lives and works in the Tennessee River Valley on Pickwick Lake. A native Iowan, who spent the first part of her life around the pastoral farmlands of Western Iowa, then on to residences in Switzerland, Germany, Texas, New Jersey, Illinois and Tennessee.
Rachelle began painting at an early age, she also explored sculpting, pottery, weaving and fashion design. From a young age she believed, “you can create anything once you see it in your mind.”
She studied in Chicago at The Harper College School of Fashion Design, Retail and Textile Science, then received her BS from Northern Illinois University.
The artist works with such mediums as acrylics, oil and aerosol paints. She also utilizes fabric, specialized papers, foils, and textiles to create a three-dimensional quality to some of her work.
Her practiced technique conveys a sense of immediacy and harmony. Her distinctive personal style emanates a unique moodiness and spirit that speaks to a wide audience.
Rachelle continues to explore the unlimited potentiality of chromatic and tonal scales, visual planes and volume within a two- dimensional framework. Viewing her dynamic and exuberant works of art is an exciting kinetic experience.
